It felt somewhat strange to be sitting in service without either running the projector or having to teach class afterwards. I truly had the Sunday "off". Although, it's unfortunate that my German friend was not able to come to service with me. It turns out that she seemed really interested in coming, for she said that at least on Easter, she and her husband used to go together. She is now a widow and has not gone to church since. Yet, she got sick this weekend. I will definitely make more of an effort to invite her in the future, when I don't have so many obligations.
Also, my Assistant Pastor has been out, and his spiritual leadership in worship ministry was very much felt. But, I praise God for my main Pastor's leadership in the church as a whole. For Good Friday service, as he went over the seven last words of Christ, the one that touched me most and brought tears to my eyes was when he went over "My God, My God, Why has Thou forsaken me?" Words cannot express my gratitude for the suffering and pain He endured for my sake, in order to provide salvation.
